<Performance Information>
The record-breaking hit animated films 'Your Name,' 'Weathering With You,' and 'Suzume's Locking Up' have earned numerous awards for animation director Makoto Shinkai. His first feature film, 'The Place Promised in Our Early Days,' was released in 2004. This work, which was also adapted for the stage in 2018, will be newly performed as a reading orchestra concert.
The reading of famous scenes by popular artists, combined with live orchestral music and original footage, dramatically revives the work 20 years after the film's release.

In this special reading orchestra concert, while utilizing the original work of director Makoto Shinkai, we will focus on the youth of three classmates and weave in the direction from the time of the stage adaptation, including the adults around them who are torn apart, to depict the story in a three-dimensional manner.

The cast includes singer, actor, fashion model and other wide-ranging "Bishonen" actor Ryuga Sato, who plays the lead role of Hiroki Fujisawa. The role of Sayuri Sawatari will be played by a double cast consisting of Airi Suzuki for the Tokyo performance and Sakurako Ohara for the Osaka performance. The role of Takuya Shirakawa will be played by Ryudai Nakamura of the six-member male group "LIL LEAGUE," who is skilled in dancing, singing and rapping. Other talented actors who will appear include KOKI TANAKA, Yuzuru Kurenai, Koran Kuroda, Tanaka Kouki of the nine-member evolved mixture unit "SUPER★DRAGON" of EBiDAN, Taiyo, Hinata Kashiwagi and Satoshi Hashimoto, who will add a touch of glamour to the characters that appear in the story.

The music is based on beautifully poignant pieces by the original composer, Tenmon, and newly arranged for orchestra by Masataka Matsutoya, a melody maker and music producer who will serve as the music supervisor. The Grand Philharmonic Tokyo, conducted by Fumiaki Murakami, will perform with a full orchestra, bringing the world of the work to life with powerful performances across a wide range of genres, from classical to contemporary pieces, popular music, and soundtracks from films and anime. The singing of theme songs by the performers will be a unique opportunity to enjoy only at the Special Reading Orchestra Concert.

The Tokyo performances will be held on November 5 (Tuesday) and 6 (Wednesday), 2024, with a total of 3 performances at Sumida Triphony Hall (Koto City, Tokyo). The Osaka performance will take place on November 20 (Wednesday) of the same year, with a total of 2 performances at NHK Osaka Hall (Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture).

<Synopsis>
A world divided north and south by the Tsugaru Strait――. Torn apart people, a mysterious tower towering over the occupied Ezo (Hokkaido). Two boys, Hiroki and Takuya, living in Aomori, the borderland on the opposite shore, promise to fly to the tower with a girl they admire, Sayuri, in a homemade airplane they named Verasira. However, as Sayuri suddenly transfers schools, their promise remains unfulfilled as time passes. Eventually, tensions across the strait escalate, and as the secrets of the tower are revealed, that promise becomes a key that reconnects the three of them. Can their airplane, carrying their hopes, fly to the promised land to reclaim the 'future' that should be?

<Performers Message>
KOKI TANAKA / as Noboru Hashimoto
It is a great honor to be involved in a work by director Makoto Shinkai in the form of a reading play with an orchestra.
I want to create a work that preserves the image of the story envisioned by the director and is appreciated by many people. Additionally, I felt a strong connection to this project because my family has a history with orchestras, which made me very happy.
I am truly delighted to be able to perform with many wonderful participants against the backdrop of my favorite music genre.
I hope to deliver a performance that is on par with the other performers.
