Sakurashimeji first lead role in a drama! HYOGA TAKADA and GAKU TANAKA will appear in TV Tokyo's Wednesday Drama 25 "Kapukapu"!

The broadcast of the water drama 25 "Kapukapu" will start on November 27 (Wednesday) at 1 AM every Wednesday, and it has been confirmed that GAKU TANAKA and HYOGA TAKADA from Sakurashimeji will be appearing!

This work is a new installment in the late-night lifestyle drama series from TV Tokyo, including "Solo Activities for Women," "Zetsumeshiroudo," and "The Secrets of Weekend Travel - Being a Couple is Not That Simple." It focuses on the increasingly popular "capsule hotels" as accommodation costs rise. Recently, stylish and clean facilities have surged, attracting more female users. The story unfolds in a capsule hotel, which has become the ultimate relaxation entertainment venue with resting areas, food, drinks, baths, saunas, and personal sleeping spaces, featuring a charming road movie about two university students.

GAKU TANAKA / as Kaito Okita
As a fourth-year university student, I miraculously passed the entrance exam and am involved in part-time jobs, futsal, and a light music club.
Although they are not aware of it, their communication skills are quite high. They became friends with Ryo in their first year because they shared a passion for music. They are bright and positive, able to enjoy their time whether they are with someone or alone.

Q) Please tell us your thoughts when you received the offer to appear in this work, and your impressions after reading the script.
First of all, I was honestly very happy when the drama was decided. Moreover, it was a drama on TV Tokyo, which I watch, and my excitement was very high. The theme of 'capsule hotels' is also very niche, and I personally find it very appealing, so I became very curious about how the story would develop.

Q) Please tell us your impressions about the roles that can be played.
I thought that Kaito might have many similarities with me, GAKU TANAKA, when I started reading.
And even after finishing episode 5, that feeling remained with me for a long time (lol).
I am action-oriented and go at my own pace. There were moments when it felt a bit embarrassing, as if I were facing myself.

Q) This will be your first lead role in a drama; could you please share your enthusiasm for the filming?
I think the word 'immature' can make one feel left behind, but I want to do my best to perform.
I will fully engage with everything I can absorb, while genuinely enjoying the process on site, and create works that everyone can enjoy!

For those who are not very familiar with capsule hotels, I hope you can gradually experience their charm, just like Kaito and Ryo.

■HYOGA TAKADA / role of Ryo Takami
A university senior. They are progressing to a higher school and are academically above average. They like music. Since middle school, they have often been alone and did not feel like forming a band, so they have been producing Vocaloid music in high school and university. In university, they have few close friends besides Kaito. They are always calm and act as Kaito's guardian.

It's not that they are quiet, but they always seem calm with a low body temperature and have an impression of emotions that are not easily expressed, which makes me feel very close to them! Except for the fact that they can study well...! (laughs)

This is my first leading role, and it will also be my first time acting with GAKU TANAKA. We usually connect through music, but this time it’s acting, so it feels very fresh. While bringing out that freshness, I want to challenge myself while cherishing the unique atmosphere that only we can create!

Kaito (GAKU TANAKA) and Ryo (HYOGA TAKADA) are best friends with completely opposite personalities. As they finish their job hunting and approach graduation as fourth-year university students, they decide to embark on a bicycle trip westward for a certain purpose, thinking, "We have no money but plenty of time. There are only a few more chances for us to do silly things together." Considering their travel budget, they use a capsule hotel for the first time. The capsule hotel offers a bath, sauna, food, drinks, and a relaxation space! The two are innocently healed, like children visiting an amusement park for the first time.
This time, the two will stop by "Geotopia" in Funabashi, "Smart Stay SHIZUKU" in Ueno, "Wellbe Sakae" in Nagoya, "Anshin Oyado Kyoto" in Kyoto, and "Capsule Inn Osaka" in Osaka. These places have a nostalgic Showa retro atmosphere, yet also resemble futuristic accommodations... In such a fusion of old and new, there are many life mentors. The capsule hotel they casually entered was filled with ultimate relaxation and lessons for their future lives.
